Meutya Magfiroh Wins 3rd Place in National Digital Microteaching Competition
The National Level Digital Microteaching Competition, organized by the Early Childhood Teacher Education (PG PAUD) Study Program at Surabaya State University (UNESA), serves as a platform for aspiring educators to showcase their creativity and innovation in teaching in the digital era. This event took place on October 5, 2025, and was attended by participants from various universities across Indonesia. Carrying the theme, "Quality Education for Golden Indonesia 2045: Synergy of Culture, Inclusion, Innovation, and Digitalization," the competition aimed to encourage students, as prospective educators, to adapt to changing times by applying smart and meaningful digital technology in the learning process, connecting it with deep learning systems in the early childhood environment.
In this competition, Meutya Magfiroh, a PG PAUD UNESA student, successfully won 3rd Place due to her enthusiastic performance with learning that was fun, conscious, and meaningful for early childhood. Meutya presented a microteaching session themed "Getting to know English numbers and letters," highlighting the learning by playing method to foster children's enthusiasm, communication, and creativity. In her presentation, Meutya utilized digital learning media she designed herself, which was engaging and successfully created an interactive and enjoyable learning atmosphere. This approach managed to deliver a more fun, safe, warm, and interactive learning activity for children, making them feel fully involved in every learning process. This learning approach also emphasized deep learning, where children not only understand the material initially but also connect it with real-life experiences. Through interactive and contextual activities, children can learn English enjoyably and build self-confidence in communicating from an early age.
The work presented by Meutya received appreciation from the panel of judges because it was considered capable of harmoniously combining pedagogical elements and creativity. The systematic arrangement of the learning flow, warm communication skills, and the use of interactive digital media became unique attractions. This achievement was inseparable from the guidance of Ibu Fatiha Khoirotunnisa Elfahmi, M.Ed., M.Pd., the supervising lecturer, who consistently provided direction from the preparation phase to the competition's execution. The guidance included lesson planning (RPPH - Daily Lesson Plan), media development, and evaluation of the microteaching performance to make it more effective and communicative. In addition, support from classmates, parents, and those closest to Meutya also served as a great motivation for Meutya to perform confidently and deliver the best results. This collaboration and spirit of togetherness is concrete proof that the academic environment at PG PAUD UNESA encourages students to continually develop, innovate, and contribute.
Meutya Magfiroh's achievement as 3rd Place Winner in the National Level Digital Microteaching Competition is proof that PG PAUD UNESA students have the potential and competence to compete at the national level. This achievement is not only a personal pride but also brings honor to the study program and the university in national education. Through this experience, Meutya hopes to continue learning and innovating in creating learning that is fun, inclusive, and relevant to the needs of children in the digital era. She also advises that every student should continue to be brave enough to try new things and make technology a partner in the teaching-learning process and as an experience in their lives. This achievement is expected to inspire and motivate the younger generation of educators to continue contributing meaningfully to Indonesia's education world.
