Lingga Police Educate Young Children on Traffic Discipline and Safety
In an effort to foster traffic awareness from an early age, the Traffic Unit (Satlantas) of the Lingga Police held an educational activity titled Police as Children’s Friends (Polsanak) at several early childhood education centers in Lingga Regency. This program aims to introduce traffic rules and safe road behavior in a fun and engaging way for young children.
Through interactive learning, police officers introduced various traffic signs, demonstrated how to cross the road safely, and emphasized the importance of wearing helmets for all ages. Officers reminded that wearing a helmet is not only a legal obligation but also an essential step to protect one’s safety while riding on the road.
In addition to helmet use, children were also taught the basic rules of traffic discipline such as stopping at red lights, avoiding careless crossing, and following police instructions. The activity was delivered through games, songs, and mini traffic simulations, allowing the children to learn through joyful experiences.
The Head of the Lingga Traffic Unit stated that instilling traffic discipline from an early age is crucial to building a generation that is responsible and safety-conscious. It is hoped that these young learners will become pioneers of road safety in their families and communities, spreading the values of discipline and care for others.
The
program also encouraged collaboration among the police, teachers, and parents
to create a culture of road safety and discipline. Through continuous
education, Lingga Police hopes to reduce traffic violations and accidents while
nurturing a generation that values awareness, safety, and responsibility on the
road.
