Art Exhibition Showcases Children’s Creativity in PAUD
A kindergarten in Surabaya recently held an art exhibition to display the amazing creativity of its young learners. The event, titled “Little Hands, Big Dreams,” featured paintings, crafts, and recycled-material artworks made by children aged three to six. The purpose was to celebrate imagination and encourage parents to appreciate the importance of creative expression in early childhood development.
Teachers prepared for weeks, guiding children to explore colors, shapes, and textures using safe and eco-friendly materials. They encouraged experimentation rather than perfection, allowing every child’s personality to shine through their art. Some students painted scenes of family life, while others crafted animals, flowers, and abstract shapes full of vibrant colors. The process helped strengthen fine motor skills and emotional expression.
Parents and guests were amazed by the diversity of the artworks displayed around the classroom and school hall. Many took photos proudly beside their children’s creations. Teachers explained that art at this stage is not about technique but about communication — helping children express what they cannot yet say with words.
During the event, students also performed short dances and songs related to their art themes. This integration of art, music, and movement made the exhibition lively and interactive. Teachers emphasized that such events nurture confidence, social interaction, and appreciation for cultural expression.
The exhibition closed with a simple award ceremony where every child received a “Little Artist Certificate.” Parents left with smiles, understanding that art is more than decoration—it’s a language of the heart that allows children to grow in confidence, creativity, and happiness.
