Volunteer Program at Sanggar Merah Merdeka Lebak Kenjeran Unit Batch 1 Group 5 - Final Meeting
On Wednesday, April 29th, 2026, a learning activity was conducted at Sanggar Merah Merdeka Lebak Unit. The activity was carried out smoothly and attended by children from various educational levels, ranging from Bibit Class (PAUD), Akar Class (Kindergarten), Tunas Class (Grades 1–2), Melati Class (Grades 3–4), to Dahlia Class (Grades 5–6). The activities were guided by youth volunteers from Sanggar Merah Merdeka and UNESA students from the PG-PAUD Study Program, namely Alif Miftakhul Jannah (25010684200), Firda Ayu Amanda (25010684134), Chevilla Azra Ayuningtyas (25010684014), and Irma Ayu Nur Affirda (25010684016).
The learning activities conducted were adjusted according to the age and abilities of each class. In the Bibit Class, the children participated in counting activities through games using a pocket counting board as the learning media. In this activity, the children counted the number of pictures, then searched for the corresponding numbers and placed them into the available pockets. This activity aimed to train basic counting skills while also improving the children’s accuracy and concentration.
In the Akar Class, the activities focused on practicing addition and subtraction using a counting board. Through this activity, the children were encouraged to learn while playing so they could more easily understand basic mathematical concepts.
Furthermore, in the Tunas and Melati Classes, the activities began with memorizing multiplication tables as usual. Afterward, the children were invited to play using learning media in the form of multiplication domino cards created by UNESA students. This activity aimed to strengthen multiplication memorization while also increasing the children’s interest in learning through enjoyable methods.
Meanwhile, in the Dahlia Class, the activities began with memorizing multiplication tables which were then recited to the teachers. Afterward, the children studied geometric solid figures by assembling simple three-dimensional shapes using creatively designed buffalo paper. The children were also invited to calculate the volume of the geometric shapes they had created. This activity aimed to improve the children’s understanding of geometry concepts while also training their motor skills and creativity.
Throughout the activities, the learning atmosphere appeared active and enjoyable. The children participated enthusiastically in every activity, while the teachers and facilitators actively guided and assisted them throughout the learning process.
Through the implementation of these activities, it is hoped that the children will improve their counting abilities, better understand mathematical concepts, and develop enthusiasm for learning through interactive and enjoyable methods.
As the final activity, the UNESA students took the initiative to create a memorable keepsake by making thumbprint art from the children using acrylic paint on a canvas. This activity greatly increased the children’s enthusiasm because they could also learn to recognize colors, practice waiting patiently for their turn, and participate in a meaningful and memorable experience.
Thus, this report was prepared as documentation of the activities that had been successfully carried out.
