PG-PAUD UNESA Students Hone Teaching Skills Through Microteaching Course
Students of the Early Childhood Teacher Education Program (PG-PAUD) at Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA), class of 2024, are currently participating in the Microteaching course as part of their preparation to apply theoretical knowledge through practical teaching skills for early childhood education. In this course, the students practice how to teach using engaging learning media and materials that suit the needs and developmental stages of young children. They also learn how to design creative and enjoyable lesson plans and manage classroom activities effectively.
Through this course, students are expected to develop the ability to create interesting and interactive learning media. The materials they design must be relevant to the learning topic, safe, comfortable, and in line with the standards of Alat Permainan Edukatif (Educational Play Tools/APE). Examples include flannel boards, natural loose-part teaching aids, and simple digital media aimed at stimulating all aspects of child development. Supervising lecturers also take part in the sessions to evaluate students’ work an essential step in preparing future early childhood educators who are innovative, professional, and capable of providing meaningful learning experiences for children.
