Pasar Rakyat 2025
Surabaya, October 5, 2025 - The atmosphere at the State University of
Surabaya (Unesa) was filled with excitement as the campus hosted Pasar Rakyat
2025, an event that combined elements of culture, culinary arts, and
entrepreneurship. This activity served as a platform for students to express
their creativity while preserving Indonesia’s rich cultural heritage through
various traditional dishes and captivating traditional attire.
Students from the
Early Childhood Education (PG-PAUD) study program actively participated by
setting up food stalls that showcased traditional delicacies from different
regions across the archipelago. Beyond selling food, they also represented
their respective regions by wearing traditional costumes, adding an authentic
and educational touch to the event. The event became even livelier with the
presence of the Head of Study Program and lecturers, who joined as participants
to enliven the celebration. They interacted with students, enjoyed various
traditional foods, and showed direct support for students’ creativity.
Moreover, the lecturers also served as judges, assessing each booth based on
creativity, product uniqueness, service quality, and cultural values presented
by the participants.
Through this event, students were able to learn about cultural values
while also developing their entrepreneurial skills from business planning and
promotion to customer service. By organizing Pasar Rakyat 2025, Unesa
reaffirmed its commitment to nurturing a young generation that is not only
intellectually capable but also creative, culturally aware, and of strong
character.
