DIES NATALIS PG-PAUD UNESA KE 18
PG-PAUD
UNESA celebrates its Dies Natalis through FIESTA’18, a formal opening followed
by a day of performances and appreciation. The ceremony begins around 08.10
with an opening and continues at 08.15 with the National Anthem and the
university and faculty hymns, setting a respectful tone for the anniversary. A
collective interfaith prayer then invites blessings for the milestone, led in
sequence by student representatives from Islam, Protestant Christianity,
Catholicism, and Hinduism, reflecting the program’s commitment to inclusivity.
Official remarks follow from the Study Program Coordinator and the Dean of the
Faculty of Education, underscoring academic direction and community spirit for
the year ahead. A symbolic tumpeng-cutting marks the formal opening of the Dies
Natalis. The coordinator is invited on stage, accompanied by leaders from S1,
S2, and professional tracks as well as senior faculty, creating a powerful
moment of unity across the program.
The
celebration also launches a student scholarship sourced from T-shirt
fundraising, with Rp 4.399.500 distributed to support peers in need. The
handover is symbolically presented by the coordinator to the student
association representative to emphasize solidarity and shared responsibility.
After the formalities, the stage becomes a showcase of community. The PG-PAUD
choir performs a set that often includes “Heal the World,” “Soleram,”
“Ampar-Ampar Pisang,” “Padang Bulan,” and “Yamko Rambe Yamko,” bringing both
global and Nusantara nuances to the anniversary mood. Lecturers are then
introduced one by one in a parade that highlights the breadth of mentorship
within the program, a light-hearted yet meaningful nod to togetherness on the
unit’s birthday.
Audience
engagement remains high throughout the day. Door-prize sessions are
interspersed, with clear rules for drawing and distribution to keep the flow
inclusive and fair. Class and cohort performances follow in curated blocks,
ranging from music and traditional dance to collaborative exercise and short
drama pieces, giving each cohort a space to contribute to the celebration. The
Dies Natalis spotlight also includes recognition moments. Achieving students
are named on stage across academic and non-academic fields, turning the
anniversary into a platform for exemplary role models. A closing flash mob by
the organizing committee wraps the celebration with warmth and energy, leaving
a collective memory that blends academic dignity, cultural expression, and
student leadership in one festive day.
