Teaching Practitioner: Evaluation of Early Childhood Learning
Early Childhood Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Surabaya
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Study Program of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) conducted a Teaching Practitioner activity as part of the course Evaluation of Early Childhood Learning. This activity aimed to provide students with direct insights into authentic assessment practices in early childhood education settings.
The session featured Wahyuning Tirto Dewi, M.Pd, an Early Childhood Education teacher at TK Al Falah Assalam Surabaya, as the guest speaker. During the activity, the speaker shared practical experiences related to evaluating children’s learning and development, including observation techniques, documentation, and interpretation of assessment results in early childhood education.
Through this Teaching Practitioner activity, students gained a better understanding of the connection between theoretical concepts of assessment and their implementation in real classroom contexts. The activity also strengthened students’ awareness of the importance of continuous and developmentally appropriate evaluation in supporting children’s learning.
The Teaching Practitioner activity is expected to enhance students’ competencies as prospective early childhood educators who are able to implement effective and meaningful evaluation practices.
