Teaching Practitioner: Early Childhood Learning Planning and Implementation
Early Childhood Education Study Program, Universitas Negeri Surabaya
The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Study Program of Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) conducted a Teaching Practitioner activity as part of the course Early Childhood Learning Planning and Implementation. This activity aimed to provide students with direct learning experiences through engagement with early childhood education practitioners.
The Teaching Practitioner session featured Lulu Khumairoh, S.Pd, an Early Childhood Education teacher at TK Labschool UNESA Surabaya, as the guest speaker. During the session, the speaker shared practical experiences related to early childhood learning planning, the implementation of developmentally appropriate play-based activities, and effective strategies for early childhood learning.
Through this activity, students gained a deeper understanding of the connection between theoretical concepts learned in lectures and real classroom practices in early childhood education settings. The activity also provided students with valuable insights into the role of early childhood teachers in designing and implementing child-centered learning.
The Teaching Practitioner activity is expected to strengthen the competencies of ECE students at UNESA as prospective early childhood educators who are professional, creative, and well-prepared to implement appropriate learning practices based on children’s needs and developmental characteristics.
