Experiential Learning for Preschoolers
Experiential learning emphasizes learning through direct experience. Children learn by doing, feeling, and reflecting—rather than by listening passively.
Activities such as cooking, water play, or visiting a traditional market allow children to grasp real-life concepts through hands-on engagement. They learn about cause and effect, responsibility, and social interaction.
According to David Kolb’s theory, effective learning occurs through four stages: concrete experience, reflection, conceptualization, and application.
Teachers should create safe and stimulating environments that allow exploration and experimentation. Their role is to guide, not dictate, the learning process.
Through experiential learning, children become active learners who understand the world contextually—making learning meaningful and enjoyable.
