Interactive Algebra Learning and Sexual Violence Prevention Advocacy at Dharma Putra Swadaya Foundation
On Tuesday, May 19, 2026, the second-week learning activity was conducted at the Dharma Putra Swadaya Foundation and was carried out with great enthusiasm and active participation from junior high school students. This activity aimed to provide an enjoyable learning experience while instilling educational values through interactive lessons and social advocacy programs.
The activity began with a collective prayer as an opening and a hope that the entire series of activities would run smoothly and bring benefits to all participants. Afterward, the university student volunteers conducted a Mathematics lesson for junior high school students, focusing on algebra. To make the learning process more engaging, a modified Monopoly game was used as an educational learning medium. Through this activity, students worked collaboratively in groups to solve algebra problems, creating a more active, enjoyable, and easily understandable learning environment.
In addition to academic learning, the student volunteers also delivered an advocacy session on the prevention of sexual violence. During this session, students were educated about the importance of self-protection, recognizing safe and unsafe situations, and having the courage to say “no” to inappropriate behavior. The material was presented using simple and interactive language to ensure that students could easily understand the concepts discussed.
Following the advocacy session, students were divided into several groups to work on simple case studies related to sexual violence. This group discussion activity was designed to develop critical thinking skills, teamwork, and awareness of how to respond to situations that may occur in their daily lives. The participants actively engaged in discussions and confidently shared their opinions with other groups.
The learning activity concluded with a brief reflection session, motivational messages from the volunteers, and a closing prayer. Through this program, it is expected that students will not only gain academic knowledge but also develop a deeper understanding of self-protection and essential social values that can be applied in everyday life.
