S1 PG-PAUD UNESA Expands Collaboration with BPMP Southeast Sulawesi
The Undergraduate Program of Early Childhood Education (S1 PG-PAUD) at Universitas Negeri Surabaya has expanded its institutional collaboration through a partnership with Balai Penjaminan Mutu Pendidikan (BPMP) Sulawesi Tenggara. The cooperation agreement was officially established on 30 October 2025. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to improving the quality of education and strengthening teacher competencies in the digital era. Both institutions aim to support educational transformation through innovative professional development programs. The collaboration also contributes to the broader goal of enhancing educational quality across Indonesia.
One of the primary objectives of the partnership is the implementation of Coding and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Training for teachers working in Early Childhood Education (PAUD) institutions. The program is designed to introduce educators to fundamental coding concepts and emerging AI technologies. Through structured training sessions, teachers will gain practical knowledge on integrating technology into learning activities. The initiative seeks to equip educators with digital competencies that are increasingly important in modern education. It also encourages the development of creative and technology-enhanced learning environments for young children.
The training program is expected to provide valuable opportunities for PAUD teachers throughout Southeast Sulawesi. Participants will engage in interactive learning activities that combine theoretical understanding with practical application. The sessions will focus on how coding and AI can be utilized to support child-centered learning experiences. Teachers will also explore innovative strategies for introducing digital literacy concepts in age-appropriate ways. These experiences are expected to strengthen educators’ confidence in utilizing educational technology effectively.
Through this collaboration, S1 PG-PAUD UNESA contributes its academic expertise in teacher training, educational innovation, and early childhood education. Lecturers and educational experts from the study program will be involved in developing and facilitating the training activities. Their participation ensures that the program content is relevant to current educational needs and aligned with national priorities. The cooperation also creates opportunities for knowledge sharing between higher education institutions and educational practitioners. Such collaboration strengthens the connection between academic research and classroom practice.
Representatives from both institutions welcomed the establishment of the partnership and emphasized its strategic importance. They highlighted the need for continuous professional development to prepare educators for rapid technological advancements. Coding and artificial intelligence have become increasingly relevant topics in discussions about the future of education. By providing access to specialized training, the partnership supports teachers in adapting to new educational challenges. The initiative is expected to generate positive impacts on teaching quality and student learning experiences.
According to the agreement, the cooperation officially commenced on 30 October 2025 and will remain valid for one year. The partnership is scheduled to conclude on 30 October 2026. During this period, both institutions will work together to implement, monitor, and evaluate the planned training activities. Continuous coordination will ensure that the objectives of the collaboration are successfully achieved. Through this partnership, S1 PG-PAUD UNESA continues to strengthen its role in advancing educational innovation and supporting the professional growth of PAUD teachers across Indonesia.
