Enhancing Literacy and Drug Awareness Through Interactive Learning Activities
First Week Learning Activity Report – Batch 2 Group 50, Dharma Putra Swadaya Foundation
On Thursday, May 7, 2026, representatives of Batch 2 Group 50 from the Dharma Putra Swadaya Foundation conducted the first week of learning activities from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM. The activity was carried out smoothly and was enthusiastically attended by junior high school students.
The session began with an introduction between the university students and the participants to create a friendly and comfortable learning environment. After the introduction, the participants and facilitators recited a prayer together before starting the lesson. To build a positive atmosphere and increase students' enthusiasm, the facilitators also conducted a simple ice-breaking activity that encouraged active participation and engagement.
During the learning session, the subject taught was Indonesian Language. The materials covered included formal and informal letters as well as persuasive speeches. The facilitators explained the definitions, structures, characteristics, and examples of each topic to help the students better understand the lessons. Participants were also given opportunities to ask questions and engage in discussions regarding concepts they had not yet fully understood.
To make the learning process more enjoyable and less monotonous, the session continued with a group game consisting of questions related to the material that had been studied. Through this activity, students actively collaborated with their teammates to answer each question. In addition to reinforcing their understanding of the lessons, the game aimed to develop students' confidence, teamwork skills, and learning motivation.
Besides providing academic instruction, the facilitators also conducted an advocacy session on drug abuse prevention. During this session, students learned about the definition of drugs, the negative impacts of drug abuse on health and future life, and the importance of protecting themselves from harmful social influences. The advocacy material was delivered in a simple and interactive manner, making it easier for students to understand and relate to the topic.
Overall, the first week of learning activities was successfully implemented and received a positive response from the participants. It is hoped that these activities will provide valuable benefits, broaden students' knowledge, and increase their motivation to actively participate in future learning sessions.
